Kim, Jaegwon - Mind in a Physical World: An Essay on the Mind-Body Problem and Mental Causation

Current debates on the mind-body problem can be traced back to the late 1950s and early 1960s. To be more precise, arguably the mind-body problem as we now know it had its origin in two classic papers published one year apart: "The 'Mental' and the 'Physical'" by Herbert Feigl in 1958 and "Sensations and Brain Processes" by J. J. C. Smart the following year.¹
